The 10th International Furniture and Mahogany Woodcarving Crafts Fair in Northeast China, held in Changchun in 2014, took place from August 1st to 3rd at Halls 7 and 8 of the Changchun International Convention and Exhibition Center. This event was one of the largest modern furniture exhibitions in the region, featuring a wide range of styles including contemporary, mahogany, and classical furniture. The fair attracted thousands of visitors and showcased an impressive variety of furniture pieces.
Hosted by the Jilin Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the exhibition was organized by the Jilin Province Furniture Association and Changchun Vida Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. With a total area of 25,000 square meters and over 1,200 booths, this fair marked a significant upgrade in both scale and quality. Nearly 100 furniture companies from provinces such as Jilin, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hebei, Sichuan, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu participated, showcasing their latest designs and products.
The exhibition was divided into four distinct zones. The modern furniture area featured solid wood, soft furnishings, panel, stone, rattan, metal, glass, outdoor, and office furniture. The mahogany section displayed contemporary neo-classical, new Chinese, and new Shanghai-style furniture, along with Ming and Qing dynasty classical styles, European, and Western classical pieces. There was also a dedicated area for furniture accessories and raw materials, as well as a woodcarving handicrafts exhibition.
The event combined exhibition and sales, aiming to expand distribution channels and connect manufacturers directly with buyers. On-site procurement opportunities were offered, making it a valuable platform for both industry professionals and consumers.
On August 1st, professional buyers and agents were invited to attend, with nearly 1,000 participants expected. The following two days, August 2nd and 3rd, were open to the general public, featuring special sales on a wide range of furniture items, including mahogany, solid wood, European style, and sofas. Over 100 top brands participated, offering competitive prices and even allowing contracts for delivery within one year.
The Changchun Furniture Sale Fair became a major highlight of the event, drawing large crowds and creating a vibrant atmosphere. According to the organizers, the large and diverse mahogany furniture exhibition area was rare in the Northeast, reflecting the growing demand for high-quality furniture in the region. This event not only promoted local craftsmanship but also highlighted the potential for future growth in the furniture market.
