According to the latest survey conducted by the Printing Industry Association of America / Graphic Arts Foundation (PIA/GATF), it is found that up to 20% of printing inks are never transferred to printing media such as paper. The waste ink produced in the printing process together with the cleaning solvent, the light-sensitive treatment liquid, the lubricating oil, the printing plate coating, etc. constitutes one of the three major wastes of the printing industry. The other two are solid waste and waste gas. Not only does it cause a lot of waste of ink, it also causes a great deal of pollution to the environment.
