Sun Chemical Announces Recent Ink Price Increase Policy

Due to the increase in raw materials and energy costs, Sun Chemical will implement ink price increase policies for inks sold in North America and Canada, and will begin implementation on July 14, 2008.

Newspaper printing inks, book printing inks, cold-setting inks, thermosetting inks, publishing inks, solvent-based packaging inks, and electronically-curable inks will rise by 10 cents per pound on an original basis, while water-based packaging inks will rise by a pound. 6 cents.

The implementation of the ink price increase policy has nothing to do with the recently announced price increase policies in other areas.

“Because the continuous price increase involves energy consumption in transportation, raw materials and products, in order to adapt to these changes, we have to immediately adopt this ink price increase policy.” Greg Lawson, president of sales of Sun Chemical, said, “But, In the fierce competition in the future, we will continue to provide our customers with the best ink color and ink performance.”
