1, boundless layout

Boundless layout refers to the layout without a fixed version, which is the kind of free layout based on the phototypesetting process mentioned above. In the era of type printing, printing is a very strict frame. With slight changes in the size of the printing plate, a series of heavy work such as re-casting lead bars must be performed. Therefore, the traditional layout can only be edged. The reason why our country's books and periodicals use the boundless layout is that the printing industry generally used photocopying technology until the 1990s. However, the printing of Chinese type characters did not really come out of the historical stage until the end of the last century, and the boundless layout was completely broken. It can be assumed that the layout with modern vitality starts from the boundless layout. In recent years, there has been a trend of “belly belly” in the layout of books and periodicals in our country, which is the result of the boundless layout. In particular, magazines, according to the content of the article and its length, the edition may sometimes be roughly full version, bleeding, and sometimes it is very flexible when one side, two sides or even three sides are left blank. Boundless layout is not limited by any framework, there is a sufficient degree of freedom, and therefore can also accommodate a variety of design methods.
