Cleveland Cavaliers main training hall fully upgraded lighting

On April 13, 2015, the Cleveland Cavaliers made a significant upgrade to their main training facility by replacing the old lighting system with energy-efficient LED lights from GE Lighting. This move not only enhanced the overall training environment but also contributed to long-term cost savings and sustainability efforts. The previous lighting system used metal halide lamps, which were known for their slow response time and high energy consumption. These outdated bulbs required frequent maintenance, especially since some of the fixtures were installed at a height of 50 feet, making bulb replacements a challenging and time-consuming task. The new GE LED lighting system offers better controllability, longer lifespan, and significantly reduces the need for regular maintenance, allowing players to focus more on their training without interruptions. David, a senior manager of the training team, highlighted the importance of this change. He mentioned that replacing the old metal halide lamps was a major concern due to the difficulty in accessing high areas. With the new LED technology, there's no need to replace ballasts or bulbs as often, making it one of the most satisfying upgrades they've made. In addition to the main training hall, the Cavaliers also upgraded the lighting in the locker rooms and gymnasium. The new LED lights provide excellent illumination while consuming less energy, supporting the team’s commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. This upgrade is part of a broader initiative to create a more sustainable and player-friendly environment.
