The color expression system includes Ostwald, Munsell, and the Japan Institute of Color Research. All three colors and symbols are used to represent colors. These three methods are applicable to objects with uniform surface color such as dyeings, coating materials and ceramics, but they cannot express transparent and translucent colors.

1. Ostwald system: Oswald Hue is based on 8 hue, each hue is divided into 3 colors, a total of 24 hue, brightness phase from white to black, with a, c, e, g, The i, l, n, and p symbols indicate that all the colors are C solid color amounts + W white amounts + B black amounts = 100. 2. Munsell system: Mansell's hue is divided into 10, each hue is further subdivided into 10, a total of 100 hue, with 5 as the representative hue, the hue is almost the limit of the human hue resolution. Mansell's lightness is divided into 11 stages, N1, N2, N3, ... N10, and the chroma is also different for each solid color. For example, 5R pure red has 14 stages, while 5BG has only 6 stages, its color tree The body is thus also irregular.

3. Japan Institute of Color Research: Japan Institute of Color, ie, p, c, c, s color system, its hue is divided into 24, the brightness of the vertical stage is nine, from black (1,0) to... 8.5, White (9.5). The color stage consists of achromatic color to solid color in 10 stages of 0s, 1s...9s. Nippon Seiki combines the changes in brightness and saturation into a change in shades. Gray Spaces typically have only a single component, ranging from white to black. Gray spaces are used for the display and printing of black-and-white and gray levels. If expressed as 100%, 0% is white and 100% is black. From 1 to 99 are all gray, but the degree is different. The smaller the number is, the closer to white-gray, the larger the number is, the closer to dark gray.
