"3G" standard division plate grade

The formaldehyde emission of G1 is very low, close to the natural state of wood, the formaldehyde emission of G2 is 0.3mg/L, and the formaldehyde emission of G3 is 0.5mg/L.

In the future, citizens will be able to distinguish between green and environmentally-friendly plates based on whether or not the "3G" mark is attached to the product. Compared with the current national E-level standards, the Code has stricter control over the amount of formaldehyde released, which can be seen from the data. The current national E-class is divided into three standards: E0, E1, and E2. The emission of E0 formaldehyde was 0.5 mg/L, the emission of E1 formaldehyde was 1.5 mg/L, and the emission of E2 formaldehyde was 5.0 mg/L.

It is reported that the plate products that meet the "Code" will be affixed with the green home building materials 3G environmental protection mark, indicating the level of compliance. The aldehyde-free grade is not absolutely "zero formaldehyde".

At present, the floor and plate which are commonly known as "aldehyde-free" on the market, because the wood itself contains trace amounts of formaldehyde, only the use of adhesive without adding formaldehyde does not mean that formaldehyde is not present in the product.

It is understood that raw materials such as wood or non-woody plant fibers will also release formaldehyde, and the amount of formaldehyde released varies according to the species. The current data show that the formaldehyde emission of wood is about 0.2mg/L. According to the "Green Plate Purchasing Regulations" issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the green sheet produced by formaldehyde-free adhesive means that the adhesive used in the manufacturing process of the artificial board is an aldehyde-free adhesive, and the release amount of free formaldehyde in the artificial board is not higher than the wood used or not. The amount of formaldehyde released from the wood plant fiber raw material, and the product meeting this requirement is positioned at the highest level of green sheet G1. Therefore, in order to distinguish whether the sheet product is a green sheet with aldehyde-free adhesive, it is one of the key factors to see which kind of adhesive is used. The aldehyde-free adhesive itself does not contain formaldehyde, such as soybean glue, starch glue and MDI currently used on the market. Both modified and resin adhesives are aldehyde-free adhesives.

Therefore, aldehyde-free grades are not guaranteed to be absolutely free of formaldehyde. At the same time, the "3G" here only indicates the environmental grade of the substrate used in the production of furniture, and the processing may also produce formaldehyde. Taking cabinets as an example, in addition to the substrate of the board, it needs to be processed by veneering, painting, edge sealing, etc. In these processing, it is difficult to say that the ingredients containing formaldehyde are not brought in, so it is necessary to be complete. "Zero Formaldehyde" is almost impossible. In addition to formaldehyde, the pollution sources contained in the cabinets also involve harmful substances such as benzene. It is also possible to use low-priced, low-density skirting boards and multi-layer plywood during the installation process. Therefore, the “3G” label can only serve as an important reference for consumers when purchasing environmentally friendly products, and does not fully represent their environmental protection level.

The superposition effect cannot be ignored

According to industry experts, the compliance of a single sample does not mean that the home is environmentally friendly. Overlaying too much decorative material can still cause harm. Many products, if taken out separately may meet national standards, but after the home materials and household products are superimposed, the overall indoor air quality may not meet the standard.
