The third new era of design concept

Are we in the third new era of design philosophy? Is it already in this stage, or has it just begun to enter? What is the third new era of this design concept, what is its second era, and how is it different from the second new era? And what clear identification can be identified in this? It is still as vague as many other things we are discussing now. Of course, entering the twenty-first century today, every designer of course knows the content of this “third new era”: it is the 5 to 6 billion people living on the earth; water, land, and air , food, energy, and many other energy private ownership, the environment deteriorated; in some rich countries the poor team began to expand...
Simply speaking of the design concept, the third era refers to the concept of our time. The problems we face and the problems we think in our daily consciousness are very clear. This is:

How can humans work together to support working and living on a small planet?

Design is to serve people's work and life. There are billions of people living on the earth. What kind of realistic concept does the designer use as a design basis? What kind of service does the design provide for people, what kind of opportunities do they provide, and their survival conditions? What are the possibilities for people to know about society? Can architectural design help maintain this important possibility for humans? Or even improve them and stop the destructive development now? For example, reducing the natural environment for people to work and live by building dense buildings and using large amounts of land? By designing economical, appropriate and durable products to control excessive production consumption?

It is easy to ask such a question. When we recall today’s world, the tomorrow’s world will find that these and several other problems are caused by the environment we support and by the massive destruction of the environment.

What is the third era of design concept? How was it? Why is that? Most designers are thinking about these issues in the new century, but have designers introduced them to what they want to do?

All designers, without exception, have a deep understanding of the current world situation, and they all have a rich experience. Some theories of Germany have proposed the development direction of the design philosophy in the new period. For example: Wolfgang Welsch points out that the future world culture will converge. Peter Groos said that we have more opportunities. Norbet Bolze said that humans have entered a knowledge society.

There are many designer's work can explain or see this trend of development. How will the current design concept change and develop? Germany’s Franzjosef Radermacher proposes that the direction of stable development will be how to prevent the Earth crisis from happening. We can now clearly see that many people are still unaware that the human living environment has become smaller and smaller, even a bit scary, and only satisfied with it. Everything that has existed before, does not care about any crisis of environmental change, or even the dangers that have already occurred, such as the desertification of the land, the dust storms, the increase of the temperature of the environment, and so on. Today, just after the end of the 20th century, everything has happened.

Of course, our knife saw the hope: the environmental protection village where the French designers are planning and designing in the Netherlands, and the mountainous areas where the Japanese artist Professor Miyazaki studies the sustainable development: the development plan that is natural, sustainable, and does not damage the human social environment. . Is it for us to abandon the existing design concept or continue to let these things continue to damage our environment?

Although every designer and manufacturer who knows the design knows such a fact, and it is almost impossible to increase the technical and technological capabilities in every aspect, we will use existing capabilities and experience to solve these problems with the least harm. It is very difficult for us to draw a picture of the architectural design identified today and in the near future. What is the result of product design, and it is clear that almost anyone can't do it. Of course, this is more than what the judgment depicts. It is man-made, because the correct way to develop in the future is only repeated as suggested by designers and design works, and tells us how to do it. The design concept of the third new era is now clear and broadly discussed. No condition is confirmed as a prerequisite for design. No results have been targeted at trees during the construction and product design process.

For such a fact, an objective and correct concept we have not yet provided sufficient examples to illustrate it. This is a new concept for designers and manufacturers engaged in the design industry. All future designers are affected.

We only know too much about the impact of a single pursuit of results. Now there are many small facts telling us how we will develop in the future.

Taking the use of buildings and land as an example, it is a fact that the land used for building houses cannot be increased as intended. For those who use land speculation, the land is limited, and now and everyone in the future can live on it. It is unlikely that your own boudoir with a small garden. Dense and continued intensive residential construction is practical, and Hong Kong is an illustration of one possibility, but how can we turn so many people into globalized ideas into a reasonable concept? We have enough reason to be sure which type of residential buildings will be needed by people in the next decade or two. If so, can we achieve the concept of globalization? Even in the third new era, the decision-making of the design industry will depend on the needs of the market.

Dense buildings may be reasonable, but rationality cannot guarantee design success in the market. What can help the rationality of design from the market to succeed? How can design from consumers and users?

Designers and their works are accepted by consumers, and only this five-factor requirement is imposed on their ideas by the outside world, and more often reflects the subjective initiative of the designers. The development of the world may bring about a strong environmental change. This is unavoidable, and increasingly reasonable methods will gradually solve the problem. However, one day a reasonable concept may not solve the problem. Now more designers and experts are considering the development of the design industry to affect the environment, and rarely talk about how existing products and designs can continue to move forward. We are still reflecting on the issue of the new era. Taking into account the environmental factor, it is only when the design work is accepted by the market and acceptance itself is unreasonable. We are still reconsidering that environmental protection is possible, inevitable, and it may always continue.
Designers are confused - but always hopeful and not worried.
